Helping Single Moms Thrive – The Caring People Workshop The Caring People, an organization committed to providing unconditional love and acceptance to Single Moms through support groups and events, is offering a free training workshop to equip “Caring Women” in ministering to moms raising children alone. The workshop will be held on Saturday, July 21, from 9am-2pm at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 3520 NW 135th Street, Oklahoma City, OK. The Caring People is a non-profit organization founded over 20 years ago by JoDee and Peter Herschend of Herschend Family Entertainment, the parent company of Silver Dollar City. The mission of the Caring People is to bring the unfailing love of Christ to Single Moms. So many moms raising children alone feel just that… alone. To meet this need, the Caring People has opened groups in Bartlesville, Bixby, Guthrie, Jenks, Oklahoma City, Ponca City and Tulsa, but we need many more groups. Recent comments from Oklahoma Single Moms include, “The Caring People is… my reminder of what love looks like,” “Support,” “Family,” “My Happy Place.” The Caring People maintains continuous training of women as Care Group leaders called “Caring Women” who minister to single moms in Missouri, states throughout the Midwest, and now in Oklahoma. The workshop in Oklahoma City on July 21, is one such training opportunity. Those interested in learning ways they can get involved with the Caring People, including training to become a Caring Woman, are invited to attend this free workshop. Materials, breakfast snacks and lunch will be provided. For more information on the Caring People go to www.thecaringpeople.org.
