Staying close while “social distancing”
March 10, 2020 by Tony Weir

“Social Distancing” have become the new words of our current situation.  Keeping our distance from others looks to be the best thing to do to curb this virus and keep it from becoming deadly to so many.  My hope is that even though we are PHYSICALLY keeping our distance from others we’ll take advantage of all of these “social” applications that have become so prevalent in our lives and use them to bridge the distance with others.  Using them to offer hope and encouragement and keep the lines of conversation open and even deepen relationships when there is extra time in our schedules from cancelled activities.  These words were shared this week from Jamie Tworkowski, founder of To Write Love On Her Arms, and I hope they are an encouragement to you and an inspiration for the times ahead.

“Conversations will not be cancelled.
Relationships will not be cancelled.
Love will not be cancelled.
Songs will not be cancelled.
Reading will not be cancelled.
Self-care will not be cancelled.
Hope will not be cancelled.

May we lean into the good stuff that remains.”
